Baby Fair Wrap-Up
Over 1,500 of Orange County’s new and expecting parents attended Parenting OC’s fourth annual Baby Fair and Toddlers Too! at Saddleback Memorial Women’s Hospital in Laguna Hills.
The larger-than-expected crowd visited a variety of fun-filled informative booths as the expo was host to 30 exhibitors who offered the latest information on prenatal health, fitness and infant care.
Babies and toddlers had the opportunity to get their picture taken with Santa, whose jolly presence made it seem like it was beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in Saddleback Memorial’s corridors. R & R Creative Entertainment engaged guests with face paintings that were geared towards children but wound up on parents’ faces also and a surprise appearance by Snow White herself, who wandered up and down the aisles singing to the tots and twirling in and out of the crowd.
There were over 50 baby and toddler contestants that participated in the Cute Baby Cover Contest, where they received a professional photo shoot. Photos will be posted online for voting to decide who will be featured on the cover of an upcoming Parenting OC Magazine.
Parents seeking medical advice found just that at Saddleback Memorial’s ‘Ask the Experts’ table, where they received free individual consultations from family physicians, OBGYNs and pediatricians who offered their wisdom on prenatal issues, birthing, infant care and family medicine topics.
In the Family Lounge and Café, parents mingled over refreshments and a wide variety of decorative bite-sized bundt cakes provided by Nothing Bundt Cakes!
A raffle, sponsored by Playlist 92.7 took place every hour giving away baskets of goodies, baby products, toys and accessories. The highlight of the event was the last raffle item, a $1,100 Stokke stroller donated by Bel Bambini, a high-end baby boutique located in Costa Mesa. The winner—a tearful seven-month pregnant expecting mother—jumped with joy when her name was announced.
Parents who attended the fair left with a full tummy, bags of goodies, advice and insight. And the kids… most left with colorful faces, cheerful smiles and the possibility of gracing an upcoming cover of Parenting OC Magazine.
