Location Announcement for the 2013 Summer Opportunities Jamboree

The Next Level Sports Complex in Garden Grove, a new world-class 100,000 square-foot multi-use athletic facility that opened in the spring of 2012, will host the 2013 Summer Opportunities Jamboree, produced by Parenting OC magazine on March 9, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The annual event, which took place at the OC Great Park last year, features over 70 exhibitors and is Orange County’s largest such fair, offering parents an opportunity to plan their family’s summer activities face-to-face with representatives from outdoor summer camps, family travel destinations and performing arts programs. This year, the theme and entertainment at Jamboree is centered on sports and fitness activities for the entire family.

“In hosting Jamboree, we are joining Parenting OC to help inspire parents and children to get more involved with sports and fitness, and to take advantage of what summer camps and other programs are offering in OC, to get active and have fun,” said Next Level CEO Jason Brennan.

“We are excited to be partnering with the Next Level. This is a new and amazing, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to youth sports, and it allows us to showcase healthy, active pursuits to parents and their children in a spectacular setting,” said Randall Tierney, President of Parenting OC.

Other attractions at the event include Parenting OC’s Cutest Kid Cover Contest, sports and fitness demonstrations and a family fun zone. Scheduled to appear are the Minions from the upcoming film Despicable Me 2; and TV’s newest dance star, seven-year-old Asia Monet Ray from the Lifetime show, Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition.

Parking is $5, and 100% of that fee will be donated to benefit Empty Benches, a nonprofit dedicated to youth sports involvement and a source of funding to athletes who otherwise would not be able to participate.
