Third Annual Monarch Butterfly Day

Saturday, February 4. Get a jump on Spring at this special event…OC Parks invites children and families to learn all about Monarch Butterflies and their natural habitat with an up-close look at the magnificent creatures in their own Butterfly Garden. Children can assist in planting more than 140 native plants that attract Monarch Butterflies. Participants can also go inside a netted butterfly enclosure. Butterfly experts will be on-site to provide educational information and answer questions about the beautiful and unique specimens. Additional activities include children’s crafts, face painting, a balloon artist and guided nature walks. Each child will receive native seeds to take home and plant to continue to help build safe habitats for Monarch Butterflies and other creatures. Ages 4 to 12. 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. FREE.
