A Day of Beauty Raises Funds for Susan G. Komen
Written by Jessica Jantz
Parenting OC presents its tenth Pampered Lady Cruise "Pretty in Pink" taking place on Oct. 3, 2010, aboard Hornblower’s Endless Dreams luxury yacht.
This three-hour cruise around Newport Harbor features beauty treatments and pampering from Orange County’s finest spa and salon professionals. It is a mini-vacation for women of every age. Entertainment includes blackjack tables, hula and ballroom dance lessons with complementary champagne; this truly is an event that cannot be missed.
The Pretty in Pink cruise theme is to promote breast cancer awareness month, and breast cancer survivors receive a discounted ticket rate. Along with luxury raffle prizes, one lucky lady will be Pampered Lady Cruises’ 1,000th Passenger, winning the grand giveaway for two of a two-night stay and two spa treatments at the Hotel Del Coronado.
This year Pampered Lady Cruise partnered with Hornblower Cruises to help raise funds for Susan G. Komen, as a portion of the proceeds are donated to their efforts for breast cancer research. “We like to think of this partnership as beauty with a cause,” says Events Coordinator Jessica Jantz. On previous cruises this year—March 21, May 16 and July 25—the event pampered almost one thousand ladies all over Southern California with skin and hair treatments, massage, makeup, gourmet appetizers, desserts, drinks and more!
The July 25 cruise was a luau-themed event featuring tropical decor and Hawaiian dance lessons. There were a variety of relaxing and entertaining festivities including hair styling, makeup application, foot and body massage, psychic readings and blackjack tables. Hula dancers from Hula Connection were a hit among the ladies. The dance floor was filled with those who wanted to learn the native dance. Attendees also had a chance to receive head-to-toe pampering treatments—a mini makeover, if you will.
“I received a spray tan, a henna tattoo and a complete makeover on my hair and makeup,” said Katie Meyers, of Yorba Linda, who attended the July 25 cruise. This whole experience is amazing and I can’t wait to come to the next cruise in October.”
A menu of services for the upcoming cruise can be viewed on www.pamperedladycruise.com. There is also a link to view photos from previous cruises and order tickets. There are 4 Pampered Lady Cruises per year.
