Let’s focus on skincare as my Ask The Experts article out in this month’s Parenting OC issue focuses on Fall Skincare.  I have been caring for my skin since I was the ripe age of 9.

Since then, I have tried what feels like every product under the sun to find the perfect skincare regimen.  In fact, one of the most frequently asked questions at my salons is “What skincare routine should I follow?”  The answer is a simple three step process. 

Step 1- Cleanse & Tone

Wash your face twice daily to remove dirt, debris , makeup, dead skin cells and accumulated oils.  Use toner-no more than twice a day- to restore skin’s pH and prepare it for the next step.

Step 2- Treat & Repair

This is the most important step of every skincare regimen.  Choose a Serum that addresses a specific area concern such as Hyperpigmentation, Acne, Fine Lines, etc. Use as directed to repair existing damage and optimize skin so it can defend itself from further injury.

Step 3-Hydrate & Protect

Apply a moisturizer to replenish and restore your skin.  Be sure to use sunscreen every day.

I also recommend using a mask at least once a week for an additional boost for the skin.
