Big news everyone…

I’m sure you already know about Parenting OC’s Parenting & Kids Expo that is taking place next Saturday, August 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The District in Tustin, right? Cute kid contest, children’s fall fashion show, live entertainment, exhibitors…a fun time for all.

Well, hold on to your hats…I was just told that after partnering with the Orange County Chapter of the AAP, the Orange County Health Care Agency, the Orange County Department of Education and the UC Irvine Family Health Center Mobile Clinic, that we will offer 500 FREE WHOOPING COUGH BOOSTER VACCINES (Tdap) at the Expo.

In case you haven’t heard, whooping cough is making a comeback, so the state of California has made this vaccine MANDATORY for all students entering 7th through12th grades when they return to school in the fall. Children who do not provide proof of immunization to their school within the first 30 days of class will not be able to attend, and some schools require proof of immunization by the first day with no grace period.

To receive the vaccine, all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and must provide an immunization record (a yellow card). The booster shot will be administered by medical professionals from the UC Irvine Family Health Center Mobile Clinic.

So, seriously, bring your kids to the Expo for the fun, but, don’t forget their yellow immunization cards and get your 7th – 12th graders immunized for FREE.

Spread the word.
